I Like to Move It, Move it...Healthy Mind, Healthy Body!
My students need an iPad Pro to practice yoga independently in small groups, and to create, develop and record student made exercise videos.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st Century learners, who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 24 curious, natural born, third-grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn, and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible.
I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children, that they have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
My students love to exercise! During Physical Education my students participate in a variety of exercise regimens, from yoga to kickball. They love to lead each other in their daily exercises and enjoy developing routines for their classmates to do. It was them the idea was sparked: to create exercise videos and share them with other other students at my our school!
My 21st Century learners and use integrate technology across the curriculum, so why not during P.E?
The iPad Pro will allow small groups of students to participate in different yoga activities in the classroom using our Kid Yoga app, and provide them with the necessary equipment to create, develop, record and share their kid directed-teacher approved exercise video using apps such as GarageBand and Movie Maker. This resource will add a new dimension to our daily exercise routines and integrate many different areas of the curriculum.
