My Project

Dramatic Play is important in preschool. When I made a Taco Truck center, I accidentally acquired an Ice Cream truck as well. The Taco Truck was a year long project that was partially funded by DonorsChoose. Students engaged for three weeks with the center, making tacos, burritos, & fajitas. They used recipe cards, prepped food, made change and kept the center neat and tidy.

It is time to transition from selling tacos to ice cream!

I'm working on painting the ice cream truck display but need the materials to make the truck come to life! After much debate between my aide and students, we've picked numbered ice cream cones and novelties. A student pointed out that if we got numbered cones, it would be easier to decide how much each ice cream would cost!

This is my first year in PreK in my district after a 11 year break in teaching preschool. I'm building my dramatic play centers from scratch, but they are being packed away in big plastic containers to be used again in future years.
