it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Dr. Seuss. I want to give this experience to my students. Will you help them travel to different places?
I have the privilege of teaching a great group of fourth grade children.
This is a new beginning teaching this grade level; but, they have helped make my transition (three weeks into school year) a smooth one thus far. They attend a school located in a community with a high level of poverty. Most of them have limited or no reading materials in their home environment. Being their educator has opened my eyes to may things one might take for granted.
My Project
The Goosebumps collection series will be used to begin a mini library in our classroom. These books will open many doors that have yet to be entered by my students. They will be able to get lost in the many adventures the author, R.L. Stine has written and/or produced. It will increase reading fluency and comprehension skills. Finally, these resources will put books in the hands of children that have yet to get caught up in or developed a love for reading.
By contributing to our project, you will enable my students to explore places they have yet to imagine or visit.
You will put books in the hands of an amazing group of young children with limited or no reading materials in their home environment. Thank you in advance for sharing in my vision of the joy and importance of reading.
