Help me give my students a Van de Graaff generator so they can explain, feel, and appreciate how it works.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students generally come from low-income families that live around the school neighborhood located in City Heights, San Diego. Most of my students are African Americans and Latinos, followed by students from the Pacific Islands or Asian backgrounds. Our school is a unique place. The school has a great percentage of students with special needs. Therefore, our school needs to be equipped with technological devices, lab tools and materials, and other resources that would guarantee that all students have what they need to learn and succeed adequately.
We need your contribution in order to provide our students with a Van de Graaff generator.
My students requested this item after enjoying the plasma ball they just received through another project. The Van de Graaff will be used as part of our STEM study of creation of electromagnetic forces through collections of electrons with moving insulating items, and the observation of the electron movement from one source to another.
My Project
My students requested the Van de Graaff generator as they were introduced to a plasma ball. Certainly, they can appreciate the movement of electrons through a gas in the fourth state of matter, but they also want to experience their bodies being electrified by a Van de Graaff generator. I said I would try to get one generator for them if they study how it works. As a result, students will study the collection of electrons through a moving belt, the attraction of opposite charges and repulsion of equal charges. Additionally, students will use their knowledge to come up with possible applications of electrostatic forces, e.g.: Collection of dust and confetti paper with electrified rubber balloons - as they develop ideas for inventions in our STEM class.
