Teaching kindergarten has to be the most interesting, exciting, and rewarding job in the world. My students are so bright and fun this year! We have many challenges and obstacles to face just as each classroom does. Despite these conditions, I hold high expectations for all of my students.
I teach kindergarten at a Title 1 school where most of my students receive free or reduced lunch.
I have a diverse group of students coming from many different backgrounds with very different learning needs. With proration at hand, budget cuts, and the possibility of no extra funds this year for supplies, teachers will be spending a lot of their own money to have proper materials. We would be so thankful to receive some new literacy activities to work with during centers. A lot of our day is spent doing literacy centered activities. My students work individually, in groups, or with a partner while I give small group instruction. They choose games and activities for skill building to stay occupied during this time. I can just see my students having a blast working with these new games and learning at the same time. I try my best to keep learning interesting and motivating for my students.
My Project
That is where you come in! We are requesting alphabet search & find bags, alphabet sound tubs, & alphabet search and find boxes to help my students practice sequencing the alphabet and associating letters with their sounds. I know these materials will bring a fresh outlook on centers, and will accommodate all of my learners' needs.
I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read our proposal.
