My students need a document camera so the teacher can display class work onto the board and the students can follow along during whole group.

My Students

My scholars walk in everyday in various moods. They live in low income neighborhoods and experience things that 4th graders should not experience. When they come into the classroom I try to make sure they know that this is a safe place where they can get the help and support that they need. Let it be mentally, emotionally or academically. I do more than teach them how to be good readers. I teach them how to control anger, how to understand feelings, how to work together despite their differences.

Knowing that I am helping my scholars succeed not only in reading but in life is what I come to work for.

If I don't do anything but teach them how to respect each other than I have done my job.

My Project

Modeling is huge in my classroom. I try to model class work as much as I can. It is hard to model it on the white board or even on the computer because a lot of work is pulled from books. If we had a document camera it will make it much easier for me to model to my students what their writing or work should look like. They will be able to follow along much easier so that their work is to the level that it should be or even higher.

A document camera makes it easy to switch between the camera and the computer without unhooking any cords.

My students deserve to get the best education they can and I solely believe that a document camera is the start to them getting what they need in the classroom.
