Help me give my students a dual monitor so that I can truly capture their attention with online learning.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Manzo's classroom raised $164

My Students
I have been so fortunate to teach curious, passionate children for 17 years as a science cluster teacher for grades K-5. When I was hired, I was shown a stairwell where my "teaching materials" were kept and was told I would travel from room to room every period on three different floors (with no elevator)! I taught over 500 students every week for ten years and with perseverance, lots of organization, and a bit of creativity. I tried my best to deliver the science curriculum and content. Now we have been blessed with a new building that houses our pre-K-8th grade students and I have a beautiful science lab where I hope to not only deliver content but experiences as well!
It truly touches me to be a role model and inspiration for these children year after year, watching them grow and become young adults.
Even when they move onto our middle school, they come back to visit me, help out in my class, take in the new thematic decor, or feed our pets. The best is when they just want to be a part of my lessons and activities and see what's happening in the room!
My Project
By far one of the greatest challenges since the pandemic for both students and teachers in education stems from the lack of meaningful dynamic online instruction. It is difficult to be consistent while the screen can not and will not ever fully replicate the activity of the classroom experience. There are strategies that can make the experience more comfortable and engaging between teachers and their students. Programs like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams have connected students with each other and their teachers. While this is not a replacement it has been a lifeline during this time. Many of the awesome features that these programs allow teachers to implement are difficult to navigate especially while on a laptop. Did you know teachers CAN NOT see their students when they share their screen?! Having a dual monitor will finally allow complete interaction during my Science online lessons. This technology will also be innovative when in-person learning resumes.
