My Students
Our school is in a low socioeconomic area, and it is a Title I school. Our district provides only a few essential school supplies, and it falls to the teacher to provide some basic classroom necessities.
Many students come from homes with little or no parental support, and they need us to meet needs that go beyond state standards.
It takes more than worksheets to help students get ready to move on to a higher grade. They need to have their confidence built and be secure in their ability to demonstrate proficiency in a subject. They are ready to learn and are waiting to be set up for success!
My Project
My students will be learning how to use technology such as Chromebooks and tablets to complete assignments in case of another school closure this year. We need headphones so that we can all work at the same time, and still maintain a quiet and orderly class environment that is conducive to learning.
Proficiency in technology is becoming more and more important in this day and age, and in the classroom, it is no different.
My students need to understand how to use Google Classroom, as well as other applications, to research, complete classwork, view lessons posted by me, and so much more. These are skills that will help them in higher grades as they progress in school, as well as in life.
