Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are creative, thoughtful, and incredibly kind! They absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging projects. They come to school every day eager to learn and with a positive attitude.
My kids have chosen to come to our school for a hands-on educational experience.
An educational experience in which their culture and lifestyles will be embraced in the classroom. Each one of my students is unique, but that's what makes our classroom community all that much better.
My Project
My school is a low-income school where 100% of the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Most of these students have never been exposed to technology such as iPads simply because they can be expensive.
Research shows that when technology is integrated into lessons, students are expected to be more interested in the subjects they are studying.
Technology provides different opportunities to make learning more fun and enjoyable for students of all ages. I would love to be able to provide 4 more iPads for my classroom so my students can learn while staying engaged and enjoying themselves. There are several times throughout the day where we break off into small groups for centers where my students will be able to use an iPad for all subject areas. By adding two iPads to my classroom collection of technology tools, I hope to slowly grow our access to learning like 21st century learners who have ready, equal access to technology. My end goal is to eventually add enough iPads so that each and every one of my students can use a tablet or computer on a one to one basis whenever they choose. Please help make this possible for these amazing students!
