My Students
These virtual reality glasses will make it possible for all our science students to manipulate dissections, anatomical models, physics and chemistry demonstrations as well as experiments. This is an economical way for our students to experience high end technology.
I teach science in a rural high school.
Over 60% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunches. Like many American communities, our area has been devastated by the recession. My students often struggle just to afford the basic necessities for class. Despite these material handicaps, my students are brilliant. They just need our support.
In view of the recent revelation that American students are falling behind in science, I believe that it is crucial to provide our young people with the technology and equipment that will help our country's scientific community regain its preeminent position in the world.
My Project
I am asking for 3 pairs of wired crystal glasses to be used with a virtual reality hub that will allow students to view real images of human and animal dissections, and chemical and physical reactions. This equipment will greatly reduce the cost of dissections labs by using software instead of preserved specimens. The addition of these three pairs of glasses will enable 5 students to use the hub at one time. We will continue to add to the number of glasses as monies become available.
This equipment is cutting edge technology.
