My Students

This year, I am embarking with my scholars on a new journey! Not only will I be their English Language Arts teacher, but Social Studies as well!

My students all come from a high poverty neighborhood and many have no exposure to cultures past their city block.

They want to be the best scholars they can, but there are times they don't have the necessary equipment or resources to enable them to do just that. My kids have spirit and creativity oozing out of their pores and I intend to help them cultivate it and allow it to bloom!

We are looking to add additional resources to our classroom including supplementing our learning with Social Studies enrichments to experience the Ancient World to The Reconstruction!

My Project

Inquiry is a crucial skill to develop, and many of the resources I have selected will help them learn how to ask their own questions, and empower them to find the answer themselves. Not only will these resources help my scholars, they will also help me integrate my two subjects together in a way that allows both subjects to be blended together, allowing for maximized learning time. The use of maps and the integration of geography across all three grade levels will also help them see the world beyond where they live, as well as prepare them for becoming global citizens.

My scholars deserve the world, and these resources will help me show them the door to exploring areas, cultures, and people that they may never have discovered on their own.

These resources will also help us supplement an outdated curriculum and help the scholars to Zone In instead of Zone Out. History is my great joy, and I want to give this gift to my students with your help.
