My students need interaction with the world outside of their neighborhood, they need to be able to see the world at large, Rome, Tokyo, the great barrier reef...money limits the physical, but we can do it with a Virtual Reality System.

My Students
My students are hard workers, who more often then not are told life is unfair when they see the world around them through the internet. I'm tired of always explaining to the kids why they can't do something, or have something. All children deserve equal chances, and yes some may see technology as frivolous, but think of the way a child who has never sat in front of a PC will see it, no longer looking behind someone's shoulders online, but seeing it for themselves and experiencing it for the first time in person.
Some of the children lack televisions, consoles, some lack PC's all together, some lack cell phones, but this isn't about what they lack, it's about what they could have.
With this type of gaming hardware available the students will be able to experience virtual reality, the students will be able to do themselves what they have only seen others do online.
My Project
The world is a very large place...made smaller all the time with advances in technology. From harnessing the horse, to water routes, to sky travel, with each new technology the world gets a little bit smaller...for those apple to buy plane tickets, or boats, etc. My students have all the desires to see the world, but are currently unable to go. With the advances in technology though, they no longer need to buy tickets to all the marvelous places of the world, they simply need to buy a virtual ticket.
My students might not be able to afford plane tickets to Asia, or Europe, and they might not scuba at all of the nice reefs, but with a technological donation, they can experience arguably the next best thing.
Cutting edge technology is never cheap, and the more recently it's out the more money it is going to be. With one headset though all of the students will be able to see the world and a new technology normally reserved for much more expensive eyes.
