How big is your worry? This is the question surrounding our students in this new world of the unknown. The students using these social emotional materials are all students with special needs. These books will enable them to identify their feelings, offering strategies they can use through stories of real life experiences. In addition, students will participate in transferring their knowledge from the books to drawing their emotions on their white boards.
The calming strips will provide students a reminder in the general education classroom of breathing strategies they have used in the SPED classroom.
This is also a transfer of knowledge from the small group setting to the general education whole group setting. Identifying the problem and the size of the problem in conjunction with emotions associated with the problem will be the forefront for this once funded project.
