This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting Latinx books for our classroom library. My students enjoy reading graphic novels and comic style text. And I want them to be able to see themselves reflected in what they are reading.
My kids are highly active and involved in their learning; with your help, I will be able to bring engaging and sought out novels for our classroom library.
Reading allows students to travel to other places and learn to appreciate culture, not only through the books themselves but also through our members' experiences.
Students love discussing the books they read, therefore motivating other students to read that same book. When we sit down to discuss the books, students are encouraged to write questions about the books as they read.
