My Students
The students in my classroom are kind, creative, and always eager to learn! We are part of an early childhood magnet school in the St. Louis Public school district. Our focus is on meeting the unique developmental needs of our young students to provide them with the greatest opportunity to succeed!
My Project
I have a classroom of Pre-K students who are 3- and 4-years old and mostly first time students attending school. Pre-K students have lots of energy and lose focus quickly, but I have found creating visuals to help maintain their attention and provide them with visual supports they need to make connections to their lessons and the world around them. By creating this Donors Choose project, I will be able to have tools that I need to create classroom visuals, posters, social stories, centers, activities, name tags, and more that will be less time consuming than my current method of hand-making the visuals, coloring them myself, and going to libraries or other businesses that are able to print items that meet the visual standard that my students need. This printer and ink will allow me to quickly create items and make items to meet specific needs of individual students and the classroom as a whole. My students are ready to SEE THE WORLD!
