My Students

I teach in a multilingual kindergarten classroom. I have a mix of students from our school's neighborhood and students that are from other countries and are bilingual. There are several different languages spoken by the students in my classroom; including but not limited to English, Spanish and Nepali. My students are diverse in the languages they speak, their culture, and their academic abilities. A few students have attended PreK but most have never been in a school setting before. A few students don't even speak English when they first come to school.

I teach in a Title I school where all of my students qualify for free lunch.

Even though there are many challenges, they are happy to come to school and eager to learn. They are energetic, caring, and sometimes very funny kindergartners that deserve the very best I can offer them!

My Project

I am requesting a document camera to better teach my kindergarten students while we are remote learning. It’s very difficult to teach students remotely. However it’s even more difficult to teach remotely without the updated technological tools like a document camera.

Using a document camera, students can view everything I put under the camera such as math and reading worksheets, as well as being able to write on them.

Teachers need to model and this document camera will make it much easier to teach this new school year. I am also requesting adaptors to be able connect the document camera to my laptop.
