My students need more books that are at their reading level to promote reading and Science Spin magazines.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Christina Li's classroom raised $518

My Students
Remember the books you really liked, but couldn't read by yourself when you were in Kindergarten?
My students are enthusiastic learners who enter kindergarten ready to learn.
They come from different social economical backgrounds. They come to school feeling excited about learning, and they try their best to learn to read and write. Our school is implementing Reading Workshop to help our students to become avid readers.
My Project
I will use the leveled books to help students develop their early literacy knowledge. The books have 3-5 sight words per page. As students read the books again and again, it reinforces the sight words. The pictures in the books will help students develop confidence in reading. I will use the Science Spin magazines as supplementary material to increase the amount of nonfiction reading material for students. Based on the two activities, students will learn how to read and distinguish fiction and nonfiction materials.
Donations to this project will make my classroom more accessible for all students.
They will have more reading material that is engaging and at their reading level. Students will develop confidence in reading over time.
More than half of students from low‑income households
