This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from different countries or have a strong Latin American heritage. As we are trying to keep their mother tongue (Spanish), I discovered some of them don't have the necessary skills to improve their literacy skills in a language because they don't have a strong foundation in the other. The impact of the pandemic affected the learning of how to use some basic resources such as dictionaries in a meaningful way, and the use of similar online resources by extension.
I want to introduce my students to the world of words, so with this class set of Spanish/English dictionaries, the Spanish speakers will improve their English skills while the English speakers will do the same, but in Spanish.
Being bilingual will be a great skill for their real life as future adults.
Let's go to improve their future. Let's go together to make them bilingual stars!
