My students need 3 sets of guided reading books that they are able to read independently.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Borasky's classroom raised $610

My Students
My school is in a low-income area with a high ESOL and Special Education population. All of our students are entitled to free breakfast and lunch.
My students are a very energetic group of second graders who love to try different things in our room.
I would like to expand my students' reading ability by giving them a larger variety of books to read at all of their various levels. I have very little to choose from for my lower readers and would definitely like to increase the amount of books I have.
My Project
My classroom is lucky enough to have a very large library. However, my lower readers do not have enough to keep their interests. I am asking for a larger collection of texts that they can read independently. With these books, my lower readers will have the opportunity expand their choices of what they can read by themselves.
This project will make a difference to the second graders I teach because it will help engage them in their independent learning.
They will be able to make connections from literature with more choices to choose from. I feel this project will allow my students to build on previous knowledge, and gain knowledge independently.
