Hello, I’m currently teaching 1-2 grade special education in a 12:1:1 ratio. My students are high functioning and bright students. They are cable of doing any tasks with some supports. They love sensory toys, building, and social play. I have done writers and some beginning writers. Some know they’re alphabets and phonemes but did not master it yet. They are all working ok adding up to 20 and telling time.
My Project
This project will help my students sit comfortably in class, learn the alphabet and sounds, writing skills, and social emotional well-being. Students are learning how to hold a pencil and write new words. Sentence strip will help early learners write/ copy sentences. I’m currently teaching foundations and students need multiple means of representation of letters and phonemes. Students have individualize schedules they follow and a timer will help them know how long they need to be in each center. Students have a hard time sitting. The proper seating with help them feel comfortable and want to stay seated.
