Help me give my students a hands-on experience in my music classroom through the use of puppets. The items on my list will provide my youngest students with an imaginative outlet to courageously express themselves through music!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of the children who enter my music classroom have never been in a formal classroom, and even more of my students have little to no English language skills. (Aside: my school supports our student population, which includes 29 different languages.) Consequently, when asked to sing or speak in class, my students hide and shut down.
I tried an experiment, that was truly successful, and which I am now asking that you fully fund in support of all of my students.
As expected, when asked to sing, most of the children refused to comply, so I gave them a finger puppet which they, in turn, helped “sing.” The disassociation gave each child the courage to put his/her voice out into the world, and eventually sing independently.
