My Students
My students live in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. Our school is a diverse learning community of about 1,000 students, from kindergarten through grade five. Our class is part of the Gifted/High Ability Magnet and they are eager second graders who love to learn and apply their learning to real-life experiences. We have children who come from middle income homes and those who come from very low-income homes.
My Project
Kids of all ages love to build and create. I want to give my students individual LEGO building block sets that will allow them to have tangible resources at their fingertips. They will be using them weekly to design and build challenges provided by task cards found on the Teachers Pay Teachers website.
Students will be using their imagination to construct models that require critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and collaboration.
They will use math and engineering skills as well as oral and written skills to explain and present their creations.
LEGO bricks make learning fun! Help me spark my students' learning in a motivating and engaging way!
