My Project

This school year we have seen a big shift to the Science of Reading and away from Guided Reading. Because of this shift, we need decodable readers for our students! Decodable readers are the perfect tool to help students practice all the phonics skills they have learned and put their decoding skills to the test! We begin with VC and CVC words. Then we move onto consonant digraphs, blends, long vowel silent-e, predictable vowel teams and so on!

The books I've selected for this project will provide my students with the opportunity to practice their decoding skills in "real books" not just reading passages.

These books are perfectly aligned with our curriculum we are using daily in our phonics whole group lessons and will be the perfect addition to our small group instruction.
