My Students
"Why are we here?" is what I always ask my third grade students every day. They always answer with a resounding, "To do our best and learn something new!" as they enter my class with smiles on their tiny faces.
Our elementary school has a high number of students who are high-poverty, first-generation immigrants from Haiti.
Even though we have to cater to and adapt to such a diverse range of learning needs, we strongly believe that all children will learn if given the right tools and technology. As their third grade teacher, my main objective is to enhance and improve their young learning experiences, especially as it pertains to their learning environment.
My Project
This school year, a lot has changed technology-wise, much to our disappointment. Chromebooks are no longer compatible with our school's broadband.
We were told that only Apple or Microsoft devices were supported which means that many teachers, including me, have devices that our students can no longer utilize in the classroom.
Your donation would allow me to replace a Chromebook with an HP 14-inch laptop for our math center. I am requesting one student laptop at a time until I have replaced all 7 Chromebooks.
