My Project

I teach at a Title 1 school and many of the families that we service may not be able to afford personal hygiene products. I started a personal hygiene station in my classroom and it was a hit but I quickly realized that I would not be able to keep up with the supplies on my own.

Middle school can be rough and I want to give my students confidence in themselves.

Our school was given funds for feminine hygiene products like pads but our students need other supplies as well. Students at this age are changing and need personal hygiene products like deodorant, body wipes, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Students are back in person now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, but not everyone is able to afford these products at home and I want students to feel comfortable and boost their self-esteem. Worrying about their personal hygiene is the last thing they need to think about.

These personal hygiene supplies will give students a boost in their self-esteem, confidence, help them fit in with the crowd, and allow them to focus on school work.
