This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students come from the inner city. They almost all qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. No matter the hardships they face at home, they come to school ready and eager to learn each day. The fifth-grade students in this class are in an inclusion class made up of general and special education students with various needs.
Many students do not have access to an adequate supply of personal hygiene products, which is affecting their health, their confidence, and their ability to focus on academic tasks.
Personal hygiene is critical to staying self and healthy. In our room we have a hygiene bin, where students can take any hygiene products they need at home without being asked any embarrassing questions. We need to restock that bin for the upcoming new school year.
