My Project
I am the school nurse at our school. My students' age ranges from 10-12 years old. At this age, they begin going through puberty. I am finding that a majority of the kids do not have or are using deodorant and unfortunately at this age that is a reason for making fun. I am trying to help those kids understand that they are going through a time in their life and need to start having better hygiene. Another item I have asked for is water. I find several kids not bringing in water bottles, they are not getting adequate fluids throughout the day. I have often found kids to be very dehydrated, especially on hot days. I will be able to give them a bottle to hydrate and refill at school. Another issue I find is they often go without eating breakfast or lunch. Giving them a little fuel here at school helps them get back into class versus them wanting to just get picked up and go home. Any help with any of these items would be greatly appreciated as these items are not allowed in our yearly budget. Thank you!
