Hydroponics

My students need a hydroponics system to become familiar with modernized farming.

My Students

I want my students to be familiar with modern farming practices different from what they were raised with in their rural community.

Students are from a rural community that does not have all the bells and whistles a larger town is equipped with.

This is a close knit community focused on student learning. Students are able to get to know the entire class they are going to be graduating with.

My Project

My students need a hydroponics system to become familiar with modernized farming. Hydroponics is small scale food producing equipment students can use within the classroom without the need of a greenhouse. Students can be in groups to produce a large amount of vegetation with a small amount of space. Students will learn how to use proper amounts of fertilizers per each item being grown.

This project will make a difference to the students because it is giving them hands on learning opportunities they would not receive otherwise within the community, or even at local colleges.
