Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, there isn’t a single working water fountain—so my science room has become the unofficial hydration station. Students from all over the building pop in all day, asking for filtered water. It breaks my heart to see them so thirsty, interrupting their learning just for a simple drink. They’re not just passing through—they’re seeking comfort and basic dignity, and I wish I could give them more than a hurried cup so I can return to teaching.

Clean water should be a right, not a privilege or a reason to miss class time.

Our students work hard in their classes and labs, navigating big challenges and still showing up with determination and hope. With your support, a set of ZeroWater filter pitchers and filters would mean my door could stay open, but kids wouldn’t have to keep missing out on learning or comfort. This project will empower them to focus, thrive, and take pride in our space—a classroom where every student feels safe, seen, and cared for, just by having access to something as simple and vital as fresh water. Thank you for believing in them.
