Hydration and Skin Tones That Reflect All of Us!

Help me give my students supplies that represent them in the multicultural skin tone, Crayola pencils and markers for completing projects, and hydration items they prefer, like flavor sticks for water, juice, tea, hot chocolate, and more!

My Project

My students come from different backgrounds and cultures. At the end of the school year, my students requested some supplies to complete the many projects that are ongoing throughout the school year. They said to use map pencils and markers that match our different skin tones. We are not just white, black, and brown. There are a lot of other shades besides those simple colors, and we would like some that we could use in our projects. They also need items for their food pantry to address hydration!

When we come together in a learning environment, having supplies that match our skin tones matters to all of us, and creating a hydration station would help us beat the heat!

Then they added that having something to drink would be nice. So this request is from my students. They would like flavor packets for water, juice, hot cocoa, tea, and more.

Coming from low socio-economic families, food insecurity is a huge concern that battles for students' attention. We have some who have specific diets, needs, and wants. The variety of items requested for the hydration station will improve the students' choices and add to their growing food pantry that addresses food insecurity concerns. They have unlimited filtered water available, but like most students, they prefer flavor in their water. As high school kids, they like choices that include hot cocoa, tea, flavor packets for water, and even coffee.
