My Students
Ever sit in a classroom that is extremely hot? Well with no air conditioner that is our classroom at the beginning an end of the school year! We all know that staying hydrated is crucial to staying healthy. These water bottles will help my students have great days at school!
My students are a wonderful group of kids!
We live in a small rural town in Oregon that has a lot of poverty. Most of my students come from low income families, and this can really impact their learning at times. Though school may be really tough for some of my students, I have yet to meet a student who didn't want to learn! These kids want to learn and it is my job to help them do just that. In our class we work hard and it shows! The students love to show off what they know and they are in love with getting the results they work so hard for!
My Project
Over the past couple years I've been trying to figure out an affordable and viable way to keep my students hydrated. Getting up every few minutes to get water does not work in our classroom. Buying them bottles of water get too expensive after awhile. These water bottles will be a great way to keep my students hydrated this year.
Each student will receive one water bottle that they will keep at their table. If it gets knocked over, they won't spill all over their work and they won't break if they fall to the ground. Students will also no longer have to leave the classroom to get a drink of water!
The other great thing about these water bottles is they are dish washer safe and we have a dish washer at school. That means I can wash our water bottles at school and not send them home to be washed. You never know if those water bottles will come back to school after they go home.
I'm looking forward to helping my students lead healthy lives. This is one way I can help them do that!
Many of my students do not know how important it is to our daily lives to stay hydrated.
Making sure that they are drinking enough water will definitely improve their days. They will be able to think more clearly, play harder, and keep their bodies healthy!
We must teach our children to lead healthy lives. Eventually they will be on their own to make healthy choices for themselves. Teaching them that hydration is good for body and brain is one way I can prepare them for life on their own.
