Hydrate, Heat, and Heal!

Help me give my students who play sports the necessary tools to help them deal with muscle cramps and pain.

My Project

Many of my student athletes suffer with dehydration and cramping at their athletic competitions and practices. As the First Aide coordinator, I see this too often. Student athletes depend on hydration packets for quick hydration. Heat and massage can help work out those cramps when they do persist. And, heating pads combined with heat therapy will help them heal sore muscles faster.

I plan to use the tools in my project to provide care to ailing athletes and to educate them on how to avoid cramps in the future.

Once a student athlete experiences the pain of muscle cramps, they do not want to experience it a second time! Most of the athletes will come by my classroom the day after practice or a game if they can. Many of them rely on me for follow up care. This is when I take the time to talk to them about nutrition, stretching, and hydration.
