My students need 6 iPads with protective cases. My ultimate goal is to have a 1 to 1 ratio of technological devices to students in the classroom. Technological devices include computers, tablets, and other electrical devices.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are six and seven year olds that are eager to become life long learners. As a first grade teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am attempting to get donations towards more technology in the classroom that will aide in allowing students to learn at their own pace in a individualistic approach through the use of devices.
After attending the TCEA conference for elementary schools, I was inspired to flip my classroom into the a hybrid classroom that allows for traditional teaching styles combined with technology that is driven by the students’ learning needs.
My class is composed of students from diverse backgrounds with various learning styles and needs such as ADHD and Autism. Additionally, my class is made up of 50-60% English Language Learners who all need to have accessibility to technological devices. The iPads are needed to support their individual learning needs through formal assessments.
My Project
I am seeking funding of iPads that will be used as learning tools in the daily use by first graders. I will be using such programs as Google slide, google draw, peardeck, near-pod, Padlet, Seasaw, and various other programs and apps that I was exposed to at the technology conference I attended.
My elementary school is a Title 1 school and lacks the funds to make the technology-to-students ratio 1-to-1.
Reaching this goal will be conducive to the success of my students towards being able to have their individualistic needs met through technology.
This generation of students are called “digital natives” due to their natural inclination towards technology in their everyday life. This project will allow for a classroom environment that builds on their knowledge of technology and provide them a greater purpose for learning.
