My students need jump ropes, hula hoops, bean bag games, and sports balls for creative ways to play while our playground is out of use as a result of Hurricane Irma.

My Students
My scholars are hard working third graders who are engaged and curious to know more! Every day we chant our school creed that echoes our core values: gratitude, self-control, grit, curiosity, and zest. I'm fortunate enough to say that my scholars display these characteristics on a daily basis.
We are focused on becoming college ready, global citizens.
While we are a Title I school in one of the more impoverished areas in Miami-Dade, our socioeconomic backgrounds are not what define us. My third graders are scholars on a mission to meet their current academic goals in preparation for college and life beyond!
My Project
This hurricane season was a rough one for Miami, and unfortunately our school was one of the many affected. Hurricane Irma flooded our campus, destroyed our gate, ripped down our biggest tree, and also made our playground unsafe to play in.
While we have been waiting for the playground to be fixed, our students have been struggling to find creative ways to play in our open field.
We need stimulating activities for our students to continue to grow their brains through activity! Materials such as jump ropes, hula hoops, bean bag games, and sports balls will allow students have have a fun and safe outdoor recess.
