This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is rich in both traditional and cutting-edge educational instruction. We proudly provide our scholars with a strong academic program that includes project-based learning, use of technology in the classroom, digital learning, various reading incentive programs and learning platforms tailored to each student's learning needs and aspirations.

We are a Vanguard (Gifted) Title I school.

Our energetic learners thrive on rigorous and challenging lessons. We have a vast academic curriculum including visual arts and robotics. Our students need technology to advance their education experience.

My Project

In order to better support my ELL students and their families, I will need to learn Spanish. This program will offer me the opportunity to better understand the needs of my students by increasing our communication. I can fill any academic or social gaps our students may have. It will also give me a better understanding of my students' needs during the Post Hurricane Harvey Recovery.

Learning Spanish will afford me the ability to communicate directly with parents and families.

Currently, I utilize a translator to convey messages to parents. I would like to eliminate this barrier that currently exists between my students, their families and I. This is why I am requesting Rosetta Stone and a tablet.
