This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 7th grade students are curious, creative, and resilient young learners who face many challenges, including those related to food insecurity. Providing nutritious snacks is essential because it fuels both their bodies and minds, helping to boost their energy, focus, and stamina throughout rigorous Reading and Language Arts lessons. When students are well-nourished, they are more engaged, participate actively, and can better absorb, produce, and apply new knowledge. My goal for this project is to create a supportive, equitable classroom environment where all students enjoy learning and understand the vital connection between proper nutrition and academic success. These snacks will help close achievement gaps by ensuring that hunger does not become a barrier to learning. What makes my students truly special is their determination and creativity, which flourish when they feel cared for and energized. With this support, they can reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love for learning.
