My Project
My class of first graders is full of some of the hardest-working six and seven-year-old kids. Many of my students come to school with hungry bellies. Thankfully, our school provides free breakfast, lunch, and a food pantry for families to shop after hours. Snacks throughout the school day are crucial for keeping my students focused on their learning. My students are always so thankful for snacks. Being able to even the playing field by making sure that everyone has a snack every single day makes it so that my students can focus on what is next in their learning rather than how or when they will get their next meal.
