This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, students spend morning studying academic subjects and every afternoon developing their artistic talents.

For some, it takes more than a two hour commute, often, they don’t have enough time to eat in the mornings and still get to school on time.

More than 3/4ths of our school comes from low-income households, so some of us can’t even afford to eat at home and have to depend on the food the school offers.

Our lunch starts late (at 1 pm) and the lunch lines are almost as long as half the school, which limits the amount of time we have to eat our lunch. It's tough to learn throughout the almost 10 hour day.
