This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The snack items I’m requesting will help ensure that no student in my classroom has to go through the day hungry. When students are hungry, it’s difficult for them to focus, stay engaged, and retain information. By providing easily accessible snacks, we can remove a major barrier to learning and create an environment where students feel supported and ready to participate. Proper nutrition can improve concentration, energy levels, and overall well-being, allowing students to reach their full academic potential.

The goal of this project is to create a classroom pantry where students can take what they need, when they need it, without fear of judgment.

This initiative is about more than just food—it’s about ensuring that students feel safe, cared for, and valued. By addressing this basic need, we can help students focus on their education rather than their hunger. Ultimately, this project aims to foster a sense of community and support, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.

My students are incredibly resilient, hardworking, and full of potential. Many of them face daily challenges, yet they show up ready to learn and grow. Despite financial hardships, they remain hopeful and determined to create a better future for themselves. They deserve a learning environment that acknowledges their struggles and provides the support they need to thrive. This pantry is a simple yet powerful way to show them that their well-being matters, and that their school community is here to support them every step of the way.
