This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This fall semester students have been hopping on the new wheels that friends and families have lovingly / generously donated to my ceramic classroom in Revere High School. And they can't get enough!!! The kids are becoming more confident behind the wheel and it's a treat to watch them learn each day.
As the students' skills grow, so does their need for more storage and advanced materials.
In response to this increasing demand, I am hoping to raise money for a new set of shelves, a drying station by the sink and more bats. Bats are a flat piece of plastic that sit on top of the spinning wheel to make the removal of large completed pieces easier.
Each semester I am learning how to make ceramics more accessible / easier to understand for my students and organization / cleanliness is a huge part of that!! My students and myself are constantly learning together, no two days are ever the same. As always, any and all help is appreciated like crazy! <3 Love from Boston!
