My students have not always been exposed to new materials or the best materials. Many times they were the students that no one wanted in class due to their behavior. While at our school, we try to get them interested in education again and give them a positive experience.
The book "The Hunger Games" is a high-interest book that I can get them interested in.
Reluctant readers do not want to read books that do not interest them and many of my students fit that profile. By reading this book and using teacher created resources on Teacher Pay Teachers I can cover numerous literacy skills and maybe turn a student into reading a whole series.
