Help me give my students snacks so they will have energy to focus on their academics. We also need a place to store our snacks as well. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Laura Hill's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Classroom's classroom raised $180
This project is fully funded
My Project
My students from Richmond are part of the Exceptional Education program that provides services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This program gives children from all cultures, areas, and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district. My energetic students enter the classroom ready to learn with a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing that can communicate in their language which is American Sign Language.
"Deaf People can do anything except hear" I King Jordan, former President at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.
They are fearless when it comes to learning!! They can't learn if they are hungry or thirsty. They need the energy to persevere throughout the school day.
My students are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and rely on American Sign Language as their mode of communication. As their teacher, I often use images from the computer to explain what is being taught. They have to see things visually in order to understand what they are learning.
Curtis Pride, a professional baseball player said: "I am not going to use my deafness as an excuse for not being successful".
This quote represents what I instill in my students on a daily basis. I often remind them that "Deaf People Can Do Anything BUT Hear".
With the use of snacks and storage bins to store snacks, my students will be able to learn and focus when they are not hungry.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
