This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At my school students have the opportunity to join an after school bike club. Three days a week, groups of students meet after school and ride bicycles on the Swamp Rabbit trail in Greenville SC. Each day is a different group of students, all with different skill levels and past cycling experience.
The one thing they all have in common is that they always seem hungry!
We meet right after school and ride anywhere from 2-6 miles depending on the group's experience. By that time it has already been 4 hours since they had lunch! These kids need some energy and having some afterschool snacks will help for sure.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
