Help me give my students extra snacks to make it through the day.
Mac 'n cheese, noodles would be a great addition to offer our hungry teens to be able to concentrate on their heads-not their stomachs!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Y's classroom raised $557

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Second chances here are the defining lines between a high school diploma and dropping out. Our students come to us from "traditional" schools having fallen behind due to a myriad of reasons: having to work to support family, poverty, gang influence, substance abuse, dysfunctional families, homelessness, etc. But they are here to succeed and are determined to change succeed getting the support they need.
2nd chances get 1st rate results!
Our students are very creative, but many have fallen through the cracks. When they enroll here, they are often behind in credits, but with determination, collaboration and support, a high school diploma is the end game.
My Project
Our students have a lunch program where the food comes from our parent school and is packaged-not actual cafeteria food. Somedays the food gets eaten, other days, there isn't much appealing. This is bad for two reasons: teens don't get proper nutrition; much food is wasted. And many times it just isn't enough for a hungry teen.
Can you concentrate on school work when you're hungry?
Our students can't! We are a small school and food options and cafeteria do not exist. Snacks would be helpful to be on hand.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
