The popcorn machine is being requested to use to celebrate academic growth at the end of each term. The snacks and drinks that I am requesting are essential because students typically complain that they are hungry, that they do not have a snack, and request a snack from me. Often, being hungry prevents students from being able to focus on lessons as well as complete independent assignments. Providing a snack for the students during the school day benefits their engagement and results in knowledge gain of some sort.
The goals for this project are to ensure that there is always a snack of some sort in my storage area that the students may grab whenever it is needed, and to ensure that my students are not being deprived of knowledge due to hunger.
The students are special to me because they have a strong desire to learn, and they eagerly encourage their classmates to do the same. Teamwork and compassion are big deals to my students and myself.
