My Project
Students learn best by being active, hands-on learners. For my students, math is a real struggle, and having manipulatives that offer hands-on opportunities to see, feel and manipulate the numbers will help them learn basic math concepts. As a math interventionist, my goal is for students to gain a conceptual understanding of math and number sense.
Manipulatives make learning fun and enjoyable.
They will create interest, motivation, and excitement about math.
The best way to increase math ability is to use intervention time with these manipulatives to help our students grow stronger in math. With your support, our young learners will have the math manipulatives they need to be successful!
The base-ten blocks will allow my students to create and manipulate numbers. The clock activity will reinforce the skill of telling time. We will use the markers and erasers to write on our dry erase boards as we dive into many different math skills.
We play bingo with different skills and the counters will be perfect for this activity. I plan to store the counters in the plastic boxes, this will allow each child to have their own color of counter.
