Humorous Books for Improving Reading Comprehension
My students need really hilarious books that will encourage them to read and improve comprehension. The chosen books are great for motivating kids to read!

My Students
Funny books are a great way to get kids to read and encourage deep comprehension. You need to understand what you read in order to get the joke! While reading these awesome books, kids will be laughing out loud! When you hear your friends laughing, that makes you want to read that book!
My students live in a high poverty area in Washington state and are highly diverse.
The majority are reading below or well below grade level. Before they leave me, I want each and every student to read at or above grade level. I can't do that without great books.
My Project
The books I've requested include hilarious books by Mo Willems. His character Pigeon is always funny. This character wants to stay up late, drive a bus, and own a puppy. Another book on my list is Captain Underpants. Underwear and bodily functions are always a favorite for young readers. As long as they read with comprehension, I'm all for it! I chose hardcover books that will last for years and years.
My students are reading well below grade level.
They have a limited number of books and the books we have are not very interesting. These books would make a world of difference to all of my students for years to come.
