Human Rights: Know Them and Uphold Them

My Students

Our school is located north of Phoenix in Athem, Arizona, and our students have varied backgrounds. As 5th Graders, they are learning about the world around them.

As we study the Declaration of Human Rights, my students are excited and hungry to learn more about human rights and how they can support those whose rights are violated.

I'd like for my students to see that people around the world are both alike and different from them. When we understand how others around the world live, we can all become stronger global citizens.

My Project

Our class will be studying The Declaration of Human Rights and its impact on people around the world. It is important that all students understand that men, women, and children around the world are entitled to, but not always granted, basic human rights.

Your donation will help build our class library to support student's learning about the struggle for basic human rights around the world.

Students will use the library to supplement their study of the Declaration of Human Rights to learn more about those who fight for human rights and those for whom human rights are denied. It is important that students learn about the struggle for human rights so that they, too, can be champions for the rights of all humans and become responsible global citizens.
