Human Anatomy

My students need fetal pig specimens to dissect and learn about the systems of the body.

My Students

You know the feeling of accomplishment when something you've struggled with finally makes sense. Learning Anatomy and Physiology is very difficult in and of itself, but add in that we are in an urban district with very limited supplies and it magnifies the challenges immensely.

My students are the first in our school to take Anatomy and Physiology and are realizing very quickly that the human body is much more complex than they thought.

They are extremely interested in how it all works, but are very visual in their learning style. In an urban school that continues to experience budget cuts, our science classes often suffer in the kinds of lab opportunities we can provide our students.

My Project

Having these dissection specimens will give them the visual and hands-on learning opportunity they need to fully understand the systems of the body. It will also give them the kind of lab experience that they will be expected to have by the time they reach college.

These students are intelligent and motivated.

They understand the importance of knowing how their bodies work and are willing to put forth the effort to do so. Human Anatomy and Physiology is one of the most relevant subjects they can learn and this knowledge will serve them for a lifetime.
