My Project
Reading is one of my students' favorite classroom activities. I have been collecting fun, high-interest, joyful books for my students to share with their families. At times, young children need a book buddy who will always be there to listen to them read and to talk to when they are feeling down.
My amazing kindergarteners love reading.
The fun and highly motivating squishmallows will be excellent inspiration for my students to read to. These squishmallows will also be excellent for my English language learners and newcomers. They will feel more comfortable reading to a stuffie because their anxiety will be reduced reading to a companion who will not judge them.
My ELL and newcomer students will also benefit from these stuffies by using them to practice language skills during role-play and play time with their peers. Students develop more oral language skills through play and practice than structured lessons.
Help me motivate my students to read with an inanimate reading pal who will always be there to enjoy a story and to help them feel calm!
